Hello everybody! I’ve been absent from my blog for some time now. Once I got back from vacation I didn’t have much motivation for new material. I was writing articles for TheCelebrityCafe and Sportsrageous and I neglected my own readers! (Hi, Ben). Anyways, I hope to start back up shortly. I’ve had some ideas for posts, yet I never motivated myself to write them. SO, hopefully this post will start an avalanche of new material to come. If not, enjoy some Random Things. . .

TV Recaps (3/29/2012)

Below are my recaps, okay, summaries, of 30 Rock and Community from Thursday night. Personally, I never read summaries of shows, I just re-watch them, but there’s a market so I’m writing them! The links will take you to my articles on TheCelebrityCafe. Underneath, I’ll go into some detail on the episodes strengths and weaknesses.

30 Rock Recap: Season 6, Episode 15 – ‘The Shower Principle’

Strengths:

  • Tracy Jordan – As always Tracy shines bright. Whether it’s him “playing” the news (like a video game) or signing on to “5nowdog5.” He’s always solid.
  • Hazel – Being a fan of Flight of the Conchords I’ve always liked Kristen Schaal. I think she’ll continue to be a great addition to the show.
  • Last Scene – Tell me that Jack Donaghy shooting rats in an abandoned warehouse is not hilarious. . .

Weaknesses:

  • Jenna’s Storyline – I’ve always thought that Jenna has been the weakest character on the show. This episode is no exception.
  • Lack of Kenneth – Even though I love Hazel, I feel Kenneth needs to be in the show more; there wasn’t a lot of him in this episode.

Community Recap: Season 3,Episode 13 – ‘Digital Exploration of Interior Design’

Strengths:

  • Vice Dean Laybourne – John Goodman hasn’t stared in many episodes, but he’s the best guest star they’ve had on the show. His story-line involving Troy and AC Repair School is subtly one of the best.
  • Pierce – He’s consistently the best character on the show.  . . Taking shots of ink. . . pretty funny.
  • Subway –  Since Scrubs I’ve always been a fan of “Keith.” He’s on Always Sunny too. I guess it was time for an episode of Community!
  • Annie – She’s distractingly attractive.

Weaknesses:

  • Troy and Abed – They’re usually the best part of the show. . . when they’re together. They go to war in this episode, so their usual banter wasn’t there.
  • Britta – I used to like her, but she’s becoming increasingly annoying. I could careless about her and her different romances.

RANDOM QUESTION:

So in case you missed the underrated Parks and Recreation and the increasingly worse Office. You can read what happened on TheCelebrityCafe. Eventually, I’m going to turn these recaps into more review-like articles. However, they’re currently straight up summaries of the episode. So if that bores you, feel free to play the typo game… See how many typos I have! It’ll be fun as I’m the self-proclaimed King of Typos.

Parks and Recreation Recap: Season 4, Episode 18 — “Lucky”

The Office Recap: Season 8, Episode 18 — “Last Day in Florida”

Here are some articles from the past week:

Sportsrageous

Celtics beat Knicks; Rondo goes off

Rondo’s performance caught me off guard. He’s such a talented player, yet he doesn’t get enough respect. To think the Celtics were about to trade him…

Sixers remember Chamberlain’s 100 point game in win over Warriors

Sixers beat Chamberlain’s 100 point record on the 50th anniversary of his game. Too bad it took them 12 players to score more than him! Nice Sixer’s win, however.

Parks and Recreation recap – “Campaign Shakeup”

This episodes of Parks was pretty good, the guest star really added to the show. However, the latter half of season 4 isn’t doing as much for me as seasons 2 and 3. We’ll see how it goes.

Modern Family recap – “Leap Day”

Great show, not so great article. Sorry guys, I can’t proofread. How many typos can you find? I know of at least 5. Who ever finds the most is declared the winner!

Report back to me for your prize.

Keep Calm and please stop saying this phrase.

ALL-STAR GAME

So Sunday night I watched the NBA All-Star game, and if you like American sports, you know it’s the best All-Star Game/Weekend. The NBA has the NFL, MLB, and NHL beat. It’s filled with spectacular plays, high scores, no defense, and the best, most athletic players in the league.

With that said, I wrote an article about the MVP, Kevin Durant, who went off for 36 points and led the West to victory. I linked the article below, and underneath that, I’ll have some youtube highlights from the game.

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER

Now everyone knows that Monday starts the week, and with the beginning of the week, comes the beginning of a week of prime-time shows. My favorite, and only show, I watch on Monday nights is How I Met Your Mother (HIMYM). I’ve been watching the show as it airs for two years now, after catching up on the first 5 seasons; I liked it a lot. However, recently it’s been the same old HIMYM, and even though it’s still funny, it seems to be lagging and repeating the same jokes and story-lines over and over again. I hope it can break out of this lull and continue with it’s charm that made the earlier season so much more enjoyable. With that said, I’ve written a recap of last nights episode, “Karma.” So read the recap, and if you want, watch the full episode here.

Random Day, Random Things 2

So I liked this “Random Things” post a lot, even though not a lot of people saw it, I’m going to continue to do it a lot… I like the phrase a lot. So without any further ado…

(NOT-SO) RANDOM QUESTION:

Random Day, Random Things

So while I couldn’t sleep last night, I thought up this idea for a blog post. One (random) day each week, I’ll post at least three random things, such as pictures, videos, poll, etc. It should be a fun and entertaining blog post. Everyone can enjoy it and the idea is pretty straight forward. So let me get right to it:

RANDOM PICTURE:

RANDOM VIDEO:

RANDOM ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT QUOTE:

Lindsay: You know, maybe if you stopped judging her, he’d trust you. Look, if you say no, you’re just going to drive him right to her.
George Michael: Hey, Dad, can you drive me to Ann’s?
Michael: Nnnn… Y-Y-Y-Y-Yes.
George Michael: Great. I’ll wait in the car.
Michael: I don’t think that worked.

RANDOM QUESTION:

So there’s my first random things post, let me know if you like it!

P.S. That poll is a serious question I’ve been thinking about, I don’t get why anyone uses the fan while they take showers… Do people hate foggy mirrors that much?!

Bon Iver

The Grammys’ effect on Bon Iver

Above ^^^^ is the link to my article on TheCelebrityCafe.

I talk about how people didn’t know who Bon Iver was (Bonny Bear), and how they’re all going crazy about it because of the Grammys.

There’s some hilarious Tweets in my article, which show the different spellings of Bon Iver. It goes to show just how people don’t know good music.

Basically, in uniform with my Why I’m not watching the Grammys article, Justin Vernon says it all. His acceptance speech is awesome, and basically tells the Grammys that he doesn’t care about the award, because it doesn’t honor real musicians… That’s what I’m screaming!

Either way, check out my article, and stay tuned for more Bon Iver posts. I might write a review of one, possibly both of their (his) albums!

P.S. I have a hard time believing Bon Iver is more than Justin Vernon!

P.P.S. Listen to “Michicant,” my favorite song from Bon Iver.
